中元音 K.K / ɚ / IPA [ ə ]
“轻读卷舌音”

1. 发音时，舌端离下齿，舌中部抬高，舌位中低。
2. 牙床半合，与/ ɜ /音相似。 双唇略扁平， 稍放松。
3. 发音/ ɜ /与相似，但是要短一些， 弱一点。
4. 这个音只出现在非重度且带 “ r ” 的音节中。
5. 这个卷舌音最常出现在词尾，常见字母组合为 "er", "or", 或 “ur”，“ar”。也可能出现在非重读音节。
6. 发音时要特别注意 / ɜ /和 /ɚ / 都有这个 “小尾巴” 的卷舌元音。因为他们都是最有美国味的特色元素。

This is vowel is called schwa. The vowel is pronounced with the centre of the tongue raised to a position between half open and half close. The middle of the tongue is quite high but not as high as it is for the / ɜ: / sound. The mouth is very nearly closed and the lips are loosely spread. eg. about = /əbaut/, alive=/əlaɪv/ .
