前元音 K.K / æ / IPA [ æ ] [ a ] （4）
“大开口夸张90度音” ， 简称 “90度大嘴音”

1. 发音时，双唇向两边平伸，张开嘴，嘴唇放松。
2. 牙床介于半开和开之间，上下齿间可容纳食指加中指尖。
3. 舌尖轻触下齿，舌前部微微抬起，舌位比 /ɛ / 低。这个音是四个前元音中设为最低、但开口最大的一个。
4. 发音时逐渐压低舌头和下颚，尽可能夸张。
5. 这个音属短元音，但实际发音中有相当的长度。
6. 常发这个元音的除了字母 “a” 之外， 字母组合 “au” 或 “ua” 有时也可发这个音。
7. 另外，有时字母组合 “al” 中的 “l” 不发音， 而 “a" 发这个大嘴音， 如 “half” 、“calf” 等。
8. 英音中发元音 [a:] 的位于 / f / / θ / / s / 或鼻音前时，美语中发音为 / æ / 。 这是英美发音的一个重大区别！。

The front of the tongue is at the bottom of the mouth and just behind the bottom teeth. It ( the front of the tongue ) is raised to a position between half open and open. The tongue is lower than it is for / e /. The mouth is open wider than it is for / e /. The lips are slightly spread. e.g. sat = / sæ t /, cat = / kæt / .
